Just the facts…

Fact: 50% of the approximately 45 million blind people in the world live in Asia and the Western Pacific.

Fact: Every minute a child somewhere in the world goes blind.

Fact: About one million blind children live in the developing countries of Asia.

Fact: Half of all blindness in Asian children is avoidable.

Fact: There are about 40,000 blind children in the Philippines.

Fact: Every week, more than 100 Filipino children lose their eyesight.

 
These facts are not lost on the leadership of RSI which continues to do its best to stem the problem of blindness in children, making sure that the disability does not maim them for life and that they are able to grow up to become productive members of society.
